With the 2021 Houston Supercross getting ready to kick the Monster Energy Supercross season off on Saturday, January 16th, NBC Sports has released their official TV schedule for the new season. NBC Sports will telecast all 17 Supercross stops in 2021 using both the NBC Sports Network and NBC channels. Veteran NBC Sports motorsports commentators Leigh Diffey and Todd Harris will handle play-by-play duties for this season's Supercross coverage. They'll be joined by five-time Supercross Champion and seven-time AMA Nationals Motocross Champion Ricky Carmichael, host and former racer Daniel Blair, and reporter Will Christien. After many years of announcing Supercross, Ralph Sheheen was not mentioned on the commentator line-up.
In other news, only 11 out of the 17 rounds in 2021 will be shown live on TV. The other six rounds will be shown on the same day of the race, but delayed. But, hope isn't lost. If you want to watch each race, commercial free from the comfort of your home, you can subscribe to the new Peacock Premium online streaming service. NBC Sports' 2021 Supercross race action begins with the season opener from NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas, on Saturday, January 16, live at 6:00 p.m. (Eastern) on NBCSN, marking the first time the series will begin the season outside of California in 25 years. The Supercross 2021 season's one-hour preview special will air Saturday, January 9, at 3:30 p.m. (Eastern) on NBC,. There will be an encore presentation of the program on Sunday, January. 10, at 5:00 p.m. (Eastern) on NBCSN and Monday, January 11, at 5:00 p.m. (Eastern) on NBCSN.
